Where We Work

Our Reach

JA’s geographic reach and spread varies from country to country, informed by the different contexts in each country including government priorities and objectives related to education, youth and employment, infrastructure, population density, academic calendars, etc.

JA Africa’s footprint currently includes 16 Sub-Saharan African countries: Burkina-Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo, Eswatini, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Generally Speaking, JA’s core programs are implemented in urban areas. These areas usually have the foundations necessary for success: a high concentration of students, higher academic levels, interest and engagement of government leaders and other influencers, volunteers and facilitators to deliver the curriculum.

In rural areas where volunteers do not often reach, programs such as JA in a Day are delivered to the beneficiaries.
