Celebrating JA Zambia’s Milestone: Empowering 90,000 Zambian Children with Financial Literacy Skills

JA Zambia has reached a significant milestone in its mission to prepare the next generation of Zambian leaders through the Cha-Ching Program, supported by the Prudence Foundation. JA Zambia has successfully empowered 90,000 children with essential financial literacy skills.

The Cha-Ching program, recognized for its excellence, is an award-winning financial literacy and responsibility initiative designed to instill sound financial habits and promote fiscal responsibility in children. Focused on four fundamental money concepts – EARN, SAVE, SPEND, DONATE – the program equips children with the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed financial decisions throughout their lives.

Delivering Cha-Ching since 2016, JA Zambia has pushed boundaries, reaching five provinces and 37 districts across Zambia. With an ambitious goal to expand to nearly 100 districts by the end of the 2024 cycle, JA Zambia is committed to creating a financially aware generation capable of navigating the complexities of the modern economy.

A pivotal catalyst for the program’s success is JA Zambia’s robust collaboration with local government authorities. Partnerships with government bodies ensure the program’s accessibility and effectiveness, reinforcing its impact. The program’s age-appropriate learning methods, engaging activities, and the involvement of qualified trainers within the school system consistently capture students’ enthusiasm and foster active engagement.

The benefits of the Cha-Ching program extend beyond individual financial well-being. By cultivating financial literacy, JA Zambia is laying the foundation for a prosperous future for Zambia. The program’s emphasis on nurturing financially responsible individuals aligns seamlessly with the nation’s goals of economic growth and stability.
