ABSA partners with JA South africa for Mandela Day 2017

On 18 July 2017, ABSA partnered with JA South Africa to celebrate Mandela Day by implementing the JA More than Money Programme at Boys and Girls Club in Protea Glen, Soweto. The programme taught 90 Grade 5 to 7 learners about earning, spending, sharing, and saving money.

Through this process the students thought of potential businesses and the ABSA mentors spoke to them about drawing up a business plan.Learners were then guided through a game that introduced the concepts of financial literacy. This was followed by a session where they identified problems they could solve in society by applying their skills and talents.

JA South Africa would like to thank ABSA and the wonderful staff of Boys & Girls Club for this fantastic opportunity. May this partnership continue to plant seeds that enable youth to unlock their entrepreneurial potential. The learners then presented their business ideas and received advice.
