For Immediate Release
26th January, 2018 – JA Senegal is partnering with Delta Air Lines to run an Innovation Camp to be held at Place du Souvenir Africa on March 3rd, 2018 in Dakar, Senegal. One hundred university students will have the opportunity to participate in the event.
The Innovation Camp offers an experiential learning environment for students based on real-life business situations. It provides participants the opportunity to develop their interpersonal skills, and learn to work under tight deadlines, as they would in real work environments.
The Delta Innovation Camp will create opportunities for students to interact through a challenge in a competitive environment, fostering public speaking, team building and problem solving skills. During the one-day camp, students will work collaboratively to develop solutions to a real business challenge facing Delta Air Lines in Senegal. They will present their solutions to a panel of judges and based on set criteria and evaluation, the winning idea will be selected. Team members will have to work together effectively to create the best solution to the challenge Delta Air Lines will present.
The Executive Director of JA Senegal, Ms. Fatou Samb said, “We are delighted to partner with Delta, one of JA’s strongest supporters globally, in Senegal to promote entrepreneurial education. The Innovation Camp comes at a time when innovation is driving the world. This event will help Senegalese youth understand the importance of innovation and how they can apply design thinking to solve problems in Senegal.”
“With innovation at the heart of our business, Delta is proud to partner with Junior Achievement Africa and JA chapters across four continents, encouraging the next generation to think big and develop new ideas in aviation and business,” said Corneel Koster, Delta’s Senior Vice President Europe, Middle East, Africa and India. “What these students learn through JA today will prepare them for the careers of tomorrow.”
